VAINO SULO “ANDY” ANDERSON
December 30, 1921 – April 7, 2013

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Vaino Sulo “Andy” Anderson, on April 7, 2013, at the Grace Hospital at the age of 91 years. Andy was a proud husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend.
Left behind to mourn Andy’s passing are his loving wife of 58 years, Janet Anderson; son Paul Anderson; daughter Linda McBride; grandson Andrew McBride and wife Amy; daughter-in-law Lori Anderson; grandchildren Michelle and Stephen Anderson; and family dog Wiggins. He was predeceased by his son Grant Anderson in 1998.
Andy was born in Taggart, Ontario on December 30, 1921. He enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in 1942 and served until 1971. During his time in the Air Force he served in Canada, the U.K., and Europe. Andy met his wife Janet while serving in England in 1954, and they married on January 22, 1955. After he retired from the Air Force he worked for the Province of Manitoba as a security guard and a sheriff’s officer. In his leisure time Andy enjoyed road trips to visit good friends in Wisconsin and North Dakota, watching trains, and spending time in the backyard enjoying the flowers and birds.
A memorial for Andy will be planned for later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Andy’s name to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Diabetes Association.
