CHRISTOPHER JOHN MICHAEL BRYANT
Christopher's laughter will
forever echo in our hearts. His courageous and lengthy battle for life ended
abruptly at his home on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.
Chris loved life. It was a
wonderful adventure. Full of music, art, travel, gourmet food, Joy, and
friends. But he also loved the other side of life. The sick, the impoverished,
the downtrodden. The addicted held a special place in his heart. He had
experienced as a former addict the sadness and pain that attends it. He was an
active and loyal member of alcoholics anonymous for a number of years. It
played a very important role in his life. The members cared for each other as
family.
Chris was born and raised in
Winnipeg, attended St. Ann's parochial school, St. Paul's High school and the
University of Manitoba. He was formerly employed at Sears, BB Bargoons,
Salvation Army, and the Addiction Foundation of Manitoba. Chris was
pre-deceased by his loving parents, Frances Adeline Newman-Bryant (Babs) and
Joseph Alan Bryant, and leaves to mourn his beloved Aunt Agnes Walker (Nessie),
and many friends, and cousins. According to his wishes, cremation will take
place. Arrangements for a funeral service to be announced at a later date.
Many many thanks to special
friends Sandy and Grace Spence, David and Denise Breen for all the love and
care they gave Chris. Thanks also to the Medical community, especially Dr. Hochman,
whom Chris greatly admired. Thanks also to caretaker Ken Gun for his kindness
and assistance.
Chris will be laid to rest with
his parents in Assumption Cemetery secure In his knowledge of the risen Christ
and promise of eternal life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in
Chris’ memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

O Divine Master grant that I
may not so much
seek to be consoled as to
console
to be understood as to
understand
to be loved as to love
for it is in giving that we
receive
It is in pardoning that are we
pardoned
and it is in dying that we
are born
to eternal life.
St. Francis of Assisi.
God grant me the serenity to
accept the things I cannot change, and the
courage to change the things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference.
