DOUGLAS WALTER REED


            On Sunday, March 31, 2013 Douglas Walter Reed passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 76 years.
            Douglas was born in 1936 in Watford, England.  He moved to Canada in 1986 with his wife, Elaine and together they had a daughter Kristen and a son Byron.  Other surviving family members include his sons Matthew and Mark; daughters Diana (Russel) and Debbie (Sam).  He was predeceased by his daughters Gail and Dawn Ann.
            Douglas served his country for many years in the Military as well as becoming a well known and respected Tour Guide in England.  He was a qualified Lecturer in English Literature, History, Art and Architecture.
            A favorite verse of Douglas’ was Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”.
            In compliance with Douglas’ wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
