RICHARD WOJCIK'S WINNIPEG FUNERAL HOME - DONALD MACKEY FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

DONALD JOHN STEPHEN MACKEY

Mercifully on Sunday, September 15, 2013 Donald John Stephen Mackey passed into eternal peace after a long battle with many varied health issues.
Don’s memory will be cherished by his family both near and far.  We all will mourn his passing but do not be sad for he is finally free.
Dad was employed by Canada Post in many different positions during the time he worked there. He was a patron of the Arts. Being an accomplished artist his artwork is enjoyed in homes and offices around the world. In his younger years Dad delighted in playing Bass and tenor drums with different Pipe bands. He was most happy spending time with family and friends.
We would like to express our gratitude to the teams of healthcare professionals who treated dad with dignity and compassion daily allowing us to keep dad home with us as long as possible…prime, homecare, and finally the staff at the Health Sciences Centre and Grace Hospital for giving us five more years of Dad’s company than expected.
In compliance with Don’s wishes there will not be a Funeral Service.
Dad was very proud of his three grandson’s appreciation and Mastery of Highland Arts and as such indicated in lieu of flowers donations be sent to The Lord Selkirk Boys Pipeband,  C/O  C&R Stankey, 161 St. Anthony Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. R2V 0R6.

RICHARD WOJCIK WINNIPEG FUNERAL DIRECTOR - CATHERINE McKENZIE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

CATHERINE ELAINE McKENZIE

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of Catherine Elaine McKenzie on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 71 years. She is survived by her husband, Donald McKenzie; sons, Russell (Kimberly) and Ian; grandchildren, Katelyn, Taylor and Ryan McKenzie; as well as by sister, Donna Miller (Ken).
Elaine was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan on June 2, 1943 to Janet and Russell Hodgson. She accepted Jesus as her Savior on July 19, 1960. She moved to Winnipeg after High School and attended the Angus Business College. Elaine married Donald McKenzie in 1974 and celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary last August at the Revolving Restaurant. Elaine was involved with the Parkview Gospel Hall, previously West End Gospel Hall, for over 50 years. She was very proud of her two sons and as most people know she had a special bond with Ian. Elaine enjoyed entertaining, caring for others, and spending time with her family. Over the last few years she has enjoyed going on cruises with her sister, brother-in-law, husband Don and son Ian. Elaine and Don, with their son Ian, also spent many hours touring all over Canada and the United States by automobile. Gathering as a family was very important to Elaine and she made sure that holidays included her immediate and extended families. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her three grandchildren. She always made sure she had fresh jelly beans for whenever they were over. She was very close to her sister Donna and they spent countless hours on the phone, enjoying each other`s company, and sharing inside jokes. She had such a great sense of humor and was always able to find the joy in life. Elaine always found the good in people and always had time to share fellowship over a cup of tea.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Parkview Street Gospel Hall, 234 Parkview Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.  Interment will take place in the Carberry Plains Cemetery, Carberry, Manitoba.
A special thank-you to Dr. Pat Harris and to the Grace General Hospital staff for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation.
