OSTAFICHUK
It is with deep sadness that we
announce the passing of Halina (Eileen) Ostafichuk (nee Parfeniuk) on Saturday,
April 27, 2013 at the age of 83 years.
Halina (Baba) will be lovingly
remembered by her beloved husband Michael; three children Jeff, Cheryl, Susan
(Robert); five grandchildren, Aaron, Adam, Jennifer, Angela, Kristen; great-grandson
John; and many friends she made over the years. She was predeceased by her
parents Sergie and Fotyna Parfeniuk (Mironiuk).
On July 19, 1929, Halina was born in
Malin, Poland. She married her husband Michael on June 13, 1953 in Winnipeg at
St. John’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church. Together they celebrated 59 years
of love and friendship. Mom enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, reading, and
spending time with her family. One of her favorite past times was making dill
pickles which we will sorely miss. Mom and Dad enjoyed many happy years at
their cottage at Spruce Bay. Fond memories of fun-filled family gatherings at
home will forever be treasured.
At Halina’s request there will be no
Funeral Service. A private family Interment will take place at Brookside
Cemetery.

A
special thank you to Dr. Wei Li, Dr. Tanya Sehgal, and the nurses and staff on
third floor North at Grace Hospital for their kindness and compassion during
this difficult time. Special thanks to
the entire staff and residents of Parkview Place Personal Care Home where Mom
and Dad have resided for the past year. A special thank you to all the nurses
and staff on the 9th floor for their continued love and kindness
they have shown Mom (Baba) over the past year.
