BEVERLEY
AMBER MAY STANLEY
Peacefully,
surrounded by family and friends, Beverley Amber May Stanley of Winnipeg,
passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2013 after a brief
battle with cancer, at the age of 63 years.
Left
to cherish Beverley’s memory are one daughter, Bobbi-Jo (Derek); brothers Jim
(Donna), Gary, & Ron (Karlene); sister-in-law Linda; numerous nieces;
nephews; and special friends, Steini & Linda, Barb & Don, Wendy, Dee,
Bonnie, Bernice and many more. She was predeceased by her father Howard; mother
Marjorie; and brother Carl.
Beverley
grew up in Amaranth, MB, until she moved away in her teenage years to work. She
spent all of her adult life in Winnipeg, working as a welder. She also spent
many years working security at the Winnipeg Arena, MTS Centre, and Canad Inns
Stadium, where she enjoyed meeting people and watching concerts and sporting
events.
As
a single mom, Beverley took great pride and joy in raising her only daughter,
Bobbi-Jo. She enjoyed big family gatherings, and devoted a lot of time to her
great-nephews and nieces. She also loved spending time with her “grand-dogs”
Daisy and Jasper.
Bev
loved to travel, to visit family and friends, as well as a special trip she
took to Greece with her daughter in 2008. She also had a passion for shopping,
and was always looking for the best bargain. Beverley always put others needs
before her own. She lived life to the fullest and loved to laugh. She always
made sure everyone else around her was looked after. She will be greatly missed
by all those she touched in life.
On
Friday, April 19, 2013 Beverley’s Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in
ANAF #283, 3584 Portage Avenue.
Special
thanks to Dr. Darcy Johnson, the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative
Care, and CancerCare Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made to CancerCare Manitoba, St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care or the
Winnipeg Humane Society.
