Wojcik's Funeral Home - Lewis Weber's Funeral Arrangements

MAJOR (RETIRED)

LEWIS PHILIP WEBER, CD

It is with profound regret that we announce the sudden death of our beloved husband, dad, and best friend, Lewis Philip Weber on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 79 years. Lewis will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his surviving wife of 55 years, Mary (Watters), his children Lew (Wendy), Carla (Andy), Mark (Lisa), and Todd (Janette), and his seven grandchildren Alex, Andrew, Ben, Katie, Kylie, Holly, and Adam.
From humble beginnings Dad has always risen to life`s challenges and adventures and well exceeded the bar set for him. Joining the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) as an Air Traffic Controller Dad spent many years guiding wayward pilots safely home through good weather and bad. The ATC crest centrepiece is the shepherd`s crook which is a symbol of care.
The crook was used for balance, guidance, and keeping the flock safe from the dangers of life. How true this held for his role of father to our family. Hallmarks of Dad`s character had been a peaceful strength and a genuine caring regard for all. Dad had always exemplified hard work, faith, and, above all, service to his family. A strong role model for his children in his character and his marriage, Dad had in return been blessed with the love and devotion of his beautiful wife Mary.  We all have been deeply nurtured and guided in the time we have had with Dad and the world and character of his children and grandchildren are the better for it. We are only consoled by the fact that God has called him home and we will be reunited with Dad in due time. Dad well exemplified the RCAF motto `Per Ardua Ad Astra` which translates to `Through Adversity to the Stars`. Enjoy your days fully, love your dear ones unconditionally, and hug them often. Our hearts are breaking yet full, thanks to the life of this good man.
Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Boulevard @ Grant Avenue with Rev. Msgr. Comeault P.H. presiding.
Special thanks to the efforts of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service for their quick response and strong efforts.
