Wojcik's Funeral Home - Carey Hunter Funeral Arrangements

CAREY HUNTER
August 1966 - September 2012
This is a letter to the man I love. Oh my stubborn guy, we didn't talk about what you would want to say to the world at this time. You were convinced till the end that everything was going to be okay. Our 25th wedding anniversary was less than two months away. Who would have bet on two naive 20 year olds getting married so young. But, we beat the odds by loving each other till the end and forever after. You were able to see our two great kids; Holly and Jesse grow into wonderful young adults, ready to take on the world. Oh how proud you were day after day of both of them and all of their accomplishments. The support of your family was so strong. Your brother, Curtis (Helen), your sister Corinne (Kevin) as well as your Dad, Norman and his wonderful wife Marilyn. You were a Momma's boy and loved your Mom, Joyce so much. Tragically you lost her to this same horrible disease at the same young age of 46. Carey you loved to work with your hands so your time at Bristol Aerospace made good use of your refrigeration ticket. There was nothing you liked more than coming to the rescue when any one needed help with their furnace, air conditioning or anything else that needed to be fixed. Carey you were a mechanical genius and always had a project on the go. One of your last ambitions was to go up north and discover gold. You spent many, many happy hours this year building your gold sleuth machine. Everyone you met quickly became a friend due to your straight talk and charismatic good looks. You still have many great childhood friends; Todd, Ken, Norm, Vern and Brad. As well as the Bristol Gang; Jerry, John, Peter and Kevin. A special thanks to our friend Mike and his great dogs Bubba and Chopper who were such great pals. Over the years we loved our many pets; Peaches, Belle and Cookie who lived long and happy lives. As well as our cats Poopie and Meow Meow who still bring many laughs and enjoyment. We received the devastating news in January that Cancer had come knocking on our door. Many thanks for all of the support and care from Dr. James Johnston and his nurse, Erin Streu for fighting this battle along with us. We would also like to thank the great team in the Chemo room, particularly, Kim, Shannon, Jacque and Carla. As well as the radiation team, headed by Dr. Andrew Cooke and Lesley who always greeted us with a big hello and smile when we came in for treatment. Also many thanks to Christine and Karen at Brathwaite's Pharmacy for taking care of all of Carey's questions and needs. I personally would also like to thank my Dad, Jim Simm and my brothers and sister as well as all the great people at Family Foods at 1881 Portage Ave., who have been so supportive. Rest in peace my beautiful man, till we meet again. Your loving wife, Vicki. F. U. Cancer!! A Celebration of Carey's Life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. James Legion, 1755 Portage Avenue.
