Richard Wojcik Funeral Director - McLeod, James Funeral Arrangements




JAMES (JIM) DENNIS MCLEOD

After a courageous battle with cancer, James (Jim) McLeod passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the age of 42 years. 
James is survived by his wife and soul mate Kathy; and his two sons, Brendan and Liam, who were the light of his life.  He is also survived and lovingly remembered by his mother Lorraine; sister Janet (Samantha and Nolan); brother Jeff and his wife Meredith (Morgann and Mallory).  He is also remembered and cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, family-in-law and friends.  James was predeceased by his sister Kathryn; stepfather Darrel; father Dennis; and Aunt Vivian.
In 1996 James received his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba and his CGA designation in 1999. He spent many years working at the Charleswood Petro-Canada to put himself through University and went on to successful careers at XCAN Grain, Manitoba Hydro and finally at the North Winnipeg Credit Union.   For many years, through his home tax practice, he was able to meet and assist many members of the community. He was the President of the Manitoba Coin Club for many years, Treasurer of the SJASD Divisional Choirs and was involved in many other organizations and associations. He touched many lives and made countless friends in his numerous accomplishments and undertakings.
James was an avid camper and boating enthusiast, spending countless hours at the lake with his family, loving every minute of it. He was a dedicated father, encouraging his sons’ growth and talent in music and sports. He was a loving husband who adored his wife and would do anything for his family.
A Celebration of James’ Life will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., in the ANAVETS Banquet Hall, 3584 Portage Ave. Service will conclude at the hall with a luncheon to follow.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of CancerCare Manitoba, the Palliative Care Program, and Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion.
