DAVID GEORGE DUNCAN
Peacefully, on Sunday, December 8,
2013 at Oakview Place Personal Care Home, David passed away at the age of 69
years.
David is survived by his sister,
Heather (Bob) Jones; brother Donald (Valdina) Duncan; nieces Jennifer Jones and
Erin Duncan; nephews Robbie Jones, Jason Duncan, Matthew Duncan, and Hugh
Duncan; seven grand-nieces and nephews; and his lifetime, Stalwart friend, Neil
Warkentin. He was predeceased by his parents.
On September 13, 1944, David was born
in East Kildonan to George and Nancy Duncan. He attended school in East
Kildonan and was employed by Defehr (Palliser) Furniture for over 30 years. He
enjoyed his entertainment systems and was an avid reader. Many will remember
David's spectacular tenor singing voice at social and church gatherings. David
had an amazing memory, and loved a good party, so always made sure he was part
of all family celebrations. David was always ready to help out with that
infectious smile, he asked very little and was a gentleman to the end.
Many thanks to Dr. Yatish Kotecha,
phycisians and staff on 3 north - Grace Hospital, and his caregivers (2nd
family) on the 3rd floor, Oakview Place. They know who they are. A special
tribute to David's sister-in-law, Valdina Duncan (RN), who was at his side or
nearby, 24/7, for the past many weeks.
For those who wish to remember our
Dave, a reception in David's memory will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013
from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Oakview Place Personal Care Home (Country
Kitchen), 2395 Ness Avenue, St. James. A private interment will take place in
the spring for family.
