WALLACE
(WALLY) JAMES HANCOX
It is with deep sadness that we announce the
passing of our beloved husband and father, Wally Hancox, on Sunday, March 16,
2014, at the age of 81 years.
Left to mourn Wally’s memory are his loving
wife of 54 years, Myra; four children Ken (Leah), Doug (Bo), Gord (Shelly),
Valerie (Arne) and 13 very special grandchildren. Also left to mourn are his two sisters, Lyla
Stone and Lavina (Earl) Pickell; sister-in-law, Denise; three brothers, Lorne
(Jessie), Glenn (Elaine) and Cliff (Trudy); and many dear nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his
parents Jim and Grace; brother Ralph; and brother-in-law Fred Stone.
Wally was born in Dominion City, Manitoba, on
January 14, 1933 and worked for many years as a Surveyor for the Province of
Manitoba. Dad enjoyed spending his time outdoors and at the lake in Hnausa
surrounded by family and friends. When not at the lake, he could be found
cheering on his children at their many different sporting events. Once his
children were grown, he spent countless hours watching and supporting his
grandchildren in all their activities.
In keeping with Wally’s wishes, there will
not be a Funeral Service. A private Interment will be held.
The family sincerely thanks all the doctors,
nurses and aides at the Seven Oaks Hospital, in both the Dialysis Unit and on
the 3rd Floor, for all their care and compassion. A Special thanks
to Dr. Sean Armstrong for going above and beyond, helping us through this
difficult time.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to
the Kidney Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
