He was predeceased by his parents Stewart and Elizabeth Carter; father-in-law Stefan Einarson; grandparents Jack and Lillian Carter, and Elwyn and Elizabeth Clark.
On May 30, 1958 Kevin was born in Selkirk, MB. He spent his early years in Petersfield MB, attending school in Teulon. When Kevin was 14, the family moved to Off Lake, ON, and attended Fort Frances High School. In 1982, Kevin made his way to Winnipeg where he enrolled in Red River College achieving his welding degree, before starting his life long career with Canadian National Railway, where he was an active union leader.
Kevin married the love of his life, Tanis Einarson on September 8, 1984. They had two daughters Kirstie and Katie. He had many passions. Kevin had a vast knowledge of dogs but had a true love for boxers. He got his first boxer in 1985, which led to a long lived hobby of raising and showing dogs, while helping found The Manitoba Boxer Club and acting as treasurer for several years. Many of his other passions included, traveling, music, fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time outdoors, but family was always the most important thing to Kevin. His dream was to retire with his family on Vancouver Island. Kevin was a very kind and generous person, always thinking of others before himself. He made many friends throughout his life, and they were all very special to him. Kevin was overwhelmed with all the love and support he received during his last few months.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in The Royal Canadian Legion, Dieppe Room, 3600 De Vries Avenue.
