Being a dedicated member of her community, Mom helped with fund raising

She enjoyed planning teas, fowl suppers, and bridal showers. She joined many clubs over the years. Mom was a 4-H leader and belonged to the
Ladies Auxiliary of St. Mark’s United Church, Ladies Eagles, and the ELW group

time to do senior’s taxes and all were very grateful for her assistance. Mom’s other
talents were decorating wedding cakes for family and friends along with her
love for cooking and baking. Neighbours
and friends always enjoyed the Christmas baking. Mom was proud of her Icelandic
heritage. She enjoyed genealogy,
gardening, and flowers. She was a
lifelong learner and had a terrific memory for dates and facts.
Mom loved family gatherings, as these events meant everything to her.
She always enjoyed a good game of cards. Amma’s most precious loves were her
grandchildren Jack and Julia. Her
favourite saying to her family was “Now be good.”
