KATHLEEN B. DAVIS
Kathleen B Davis, of Winnipeg, MB,
passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Grace Hospice, after a lengthy illness.
Kae
is survived by her daughter Lynn Kozak, of St. Andrews, NB; sister Margaret
Henderson, of Winnipeg; grandsons David (Jennifer) Kozak, Mark (Jill) Kozak,
and Ryan Kozak; great grandchildren Benjamin, Ethan, Evan, Cady, Eva and
Gabrielle, all of New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her brother David;
husband Samuel James Davis; and son-in-law Walter Kozak.
Kae
was born in Winnipeg on February 24, 1925, the youngest daughter of the late
Kathleen (Wood) and David Henderson. She
loved visiting her family in St. Andrews, NB, where she spent many summers and
Christmas seasons, along with her sister Margaret. Kae was drawn to the ocean and loved
breathing in the salt air. More than
that, she loved sharing her life with her daughter, Lynn. “Gigi”, as she was fondly known by her
great-grandchildren, had a love of travel, which took her to many exotic
destinations around the world.
Kae
spent her last years devoted to her loving partner Philip Young, who passed
away just hours later, on December 3, 2013.
They spent many years wintering in Texas, attending Goldeyes games, golfing,
curling and attending the symphony.
Philip’s large family was near and dear to Kae’s heart.
Prior
to her retirement, Kae worked for the City of Winnipeg. Those who knew her will remember her as a
kind and caring woman who always put others first.
There
will be no funeral service, at Kae’s request.
She will be interred in the St. Andrews Rural Cemetery, in New
Brunswick.
The
family would like to thank the staff of the Grace Hospice for their exceptional
care.
Donations
can be made in Kae’s memory to Grace Hospice, in Winnipeg.
