Richard Wojcik's Funeral Home - Morgan Kelso Funeral Arrangements

MORGAN (POGUE) KELSO

A very good man has left us and it is with great sadness that the family of Pogue Kelso announces his passing on Thursday, January 23, 2014. After overcoming the last challenge he was faced with, Pogue will now be re-united with his wife and be able to catch up with some old friends.
Pogue was born December 6, 1925, the first of three children, to Thomas and Mary Kelso. He was predeceased by his parents; brother; sister, and his wife.  He is survived by his three children Clarice, Evelyn, Morgan (Fern) and his grandson Morgan. Also left to grieve are numerous friends and relatives.
Dad led a very good life and he enjoyed it to the fullest. He had a loving family and very long list of friends; he was in the military, owned a business, spent time in local politics and really enjoyed being part of the local Lions club. The majority of Dad’s life was spent in Roblin, Manitoba where he lived independently in his home up until a month ago. He loved the game of golf and played it up until his mid-seventies. When winter came along his attention focused on hometown hockey.  Dad and the old boys sure enjoyed having a couple of drinks and going to the game.
His friends, neighbors and family helped him to live independently in his own home up until he passed on and this meant the world to him.  Many thanks to all who helped him keep his independence. We sure had a few good arguments when the words “old folks home” came up. Because of this one of his fondest memories will probably be sitting at home on his 88th birthday celebrating the event with his grandson.
Dad sure appreciated the letters of encouragement sent from back home while he was in the hospital resting; the autographed napkin from the coffee gang was great. Judy, Trixie and Pete your visits helped brighten his final days.
There won’t be a formal funeral; instead there will be a get together in the spring where we can celebrate Pogue’s life, but that shouldn’t stop anyone from raising a farewell glass to him now.
