Wojcik's Funeral Chapel - Aurelio Munoz Funeral Arramgements

AURELIO MORENO MUNOZ

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Aurelio Munoz on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at his home in Winnipeg at the age of 79 years.
Left to cherish Aurelio’s memory are his loving wife of 54 years, Isabel Munoz; daughter Begonia Lowrie; grandson Derrick Ross; sisters Rosa (Angel), Pilar (Jesus), Conchie (Paco); as well as numerous nieces; nephews; and relatives throughout the United States and Spain. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter Graciella Maria Munoz.
Growing up in Spain, my grandparents explored all of Western Europe together, living in Germany for 10 years early into their marriage. Grandpa brought his family to Canada for the endless opportunities, and fell in love with his adopted home. He spent many years enjoying Canadian summers at Bird Lake, winter trips to Mexico, and frequent casino jaunts with his closest friends. My Grandpa spent a majority of his working life as a Welder, and loved his adventures to the Arctic working on the DEW line. He was a proud Spaniard, was involved the local Spanish community for many years, and was once the president of the Spanish Club of Winnipeg. From a young age my Grandfather found his faith in the church, raised in a Spanish convent, and was a loyal forth degree Knight of Columbus and Catholic. Anybody who knew him knows that he was a man full of life, passion, and character. There was no doubt that Grandpa loved life, his family, and soccer. He had many achievements in life, but none made him more proud than his daughters and grandson, who he took in as his own son at a very young age.
A Eulogy will commence at 10:20 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 in St. Charles Roman Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles Street, Winnipeg. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Paul Tinguely, presiding.
Our family gives special thanks to all of our loving friends and support team, especially Janice Butler, Irene Morello-Beer, Brittany Butler, Willie Butler, and Father Paul.
In lieu of flowers our family would appreciate donations made to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
