Wojcik's Funeral Home - Robert Glass Funeral Arrangements

ROBERT NEVILLE CAMERON GLASS

On Monday, September 30, 2013 Bob passed away at Concordia Hospital at the age of 71 years.
Robert (Bob) was born on June 14, 1942, a bouncing baby boy with curly blonde hair and blue eyes, to Robert and Alice Glass, both of Scottish origin. Sadly, his father passed away when he was only two years of age. However, he grew up in the East Kildonan area surrounded by several uncles and one, in particular, Uncle Bill Gray, stepped in to become a father figure.
Bob spent his extra time on weekends working with his uncle in the trucking business and they spent some great times together hunting and fishing.  He started his career working at MTS, then decided to further his education. He also started a family in those early years.  After studying in the field of Labour Relations, Bob subsequently held positions at MTS, Government of Saskatchewan, Construction Labour Relations, Manitoba Health Organizations and Comstock Canada. He also tried his hand at small business, being one of the founding owners of the Three Fathoms dive shop. In recent years Bob enjoyed re-connecting with past colleagues while serving on the Manitoba Labour Board. Bob and his wife Linda spent their happiest times at the cottage at Pointe du Bois, then retired to Lac du Bonnet and recently returned to the Winnipeg area. He will best be remembered for his keen wit and wonderful (some say outrageous) sense of humour. He loved nothing better than to share a good laugh, his upbeat personality and ever ready words of encouragement were an inspiration to many.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda, sister Glenda Smith (Jack); children Cameron, Allison (Glenn) Leaf, Sheila (Kelly) Yanisiw; two granddaughters, Bailey (Justin) Rayner, Daylene (Carter) Litke; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law Laura (Don) Reid; brother-in-law Lloyd Carefoot; and several nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by his best little pal, Meggie.
A family memorial will be held at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff of 3E at Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to Concordia Hospital Palliative Care.

Bob leaves us with this thought:

Be glad! And do not blindly grope
For Truth that lies beyond our scope:
A sober plot informeth all
Of Life’s uproarious carnival.
Your day is such a little one,
A gnat that lives from sun to sun:
Yet gnat and you have parts to play—
What ho! the World’s all right, I say.
