Wojcik's Funeral Chapel - Jean Foley Funeral Arrangements

JEAN ALICE FOLEY

The Foley family is mourning the loss of our beloved mother and grandmother, Jean Alice Foley, on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Grandma Jean was the heart of our family. She taught her nine children and 15 grandchildren to live well sharing her wisdom, spirituality, inner strength, and tremendous capacity for love and forgiveness.  She kept old friends close and welcomed new friends as family.
Mom loved books and music. A bright and intelligent woman, she kept newspaper articles and recipes to share with loved ones, listened to CBC Radio and followed politics and current affairs.  She lived a full life with her 'kids and cats and dogs' and found beauty, inspiration and joy in nature, her greenhouse, and the family cottage.  A talented lady, she put her artistic abilities to work creating a welcoming home, a tranquil garden and preparing food that was as delicious to see as it was to eat .  Many of her homemade birthday cakes were decorated with her garden flowers. Her cinnamon buns, crab apple jelly, peach jam, and chocolate cakes were legendary. Family Sunday dinners were one of her greatest delights.
Grandma Jean lived independently until the last two years of her life. The family is grateful for the professional and loving care she received from staff at Home Care, at Misericordia Health Centre and Deer Lodge Centre, Lodge 7.  The family extends its sincerest thanks to all who helped her during her final years.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church/Assiniboine Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Avenue with Rev. Fr. Gerald Langevin and Rev. Msgr. Stanislaw Jaworski, presiding. Interment will be held at a later date.
In memory of Grandma Jean, please 'be kind to yourself'.  Flowers and donations gratefully declined.
