HELEN JOSEPHINE SOLUK
(nee REAUME)
It is with heavy hearts and much
sadness that we announce the passing of Helen on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at
the age of 77 years.
Helen will always be remembered by
her loving husband Don; children Cheryl (Kurt) and Terry (Annette and Kelsey)
and cherished family Michele, Courtney and Nolan; sisters Margaret (Ron) Knox
and Marvelle Kostick; brothers Joe (Pat), Harold (Mary) and Ralph; sisters and
brothers-in-law; numerous nieces; nephews and friends.
She
was predeceased by her parents Marvelle and Ralph Reaume; brother Art; sister
Betty; and brother-in-law Paul Kostick.
On December 22, 1935 Helen was born in
Nippissing, ON. Shortly after high school she moved to Toronto with her sister
and while working at Loblaws met the love of her life Don, they married on May
25, 1957. In 1962 they made the move to Thalberg, Manitoba to raise their
children on the Soluk family farm till 1980 when they moved to Beausejour. Helen worked at the Edward Schreyer School
for 20+ years as a custodian, where she touched the hearts of many students and
made many lifelong friends.
Helen was an active member of St.
Mary Roman Catholic Church and her faith in God was exemplified by her caring
ways. She was an amazing woman who made everyone feel special. She had a smile
that could light up a room and a laugh that would warm a heart. Helen will be dearly missed by her family and
friends.
Prayers will be held on Thursday
evening, June 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530
Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated Friday
morning, June 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. also in the Church. Interment will follow
in St. Mary Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery. For those who wish, viewing will be
held at Prayers and prior to the Liturgy.
