On the morning of Sunday, March 9, 2014, Bob passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Stella (Golden West Centennial Lodge); children Cheryl (Richard) of Kanata, ON; Randy (Donna) of Winnipeg; and Roxanne (Neil) of Kemptville, ON.  He also leaves to mourn, his grandchildren Kristy (Rob), Michael, Sarah (Alexander), Heather (Olivier), and James, and three great-grandchildren, Grace, Sadie, and Maggie, and by his brother, Brian.
Born in Brandon, MB in 1931, Robert joined the Royal Canadian Air Force before settling in Winnipeg. He remained involved with the reserve military, retiring as Wing Commander for #3 Wing. He completed his career with the government retiring from Employment and Immigration Canada.  He was an active member of Knights of Columbus and an honorary life member 3rd degree and 4th degree. He was also active in Blessed John XXIII parish, where for many years he was a trustee. He was a member and past president of Manitoba Military Institute, and a member of ANAF #283. As a Charter Member of 17 Wing Golf Club, he served many years on the executive of the club.
No formal Funeral Service will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge for their care and kindness in Bob's final months.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Manitoba or Golden West Centennial Lodge.
