Richard Wojcik's Funeral Home Winnipeg - Joy Middleton Funeral Arrangements

JOY KATHERINE IRENE MIDDLETON
(nee BOYD)
May 1, 1922- February 17, 2014

Peacefully, in her sleep on Monday, February 17, 2014, Joy passed away in her 92nd year.
Joy will be sadly missed by her sons John and Robert (Lori); grandchildren John (Sany) Jamie (Lesley), Keely, Kody, Kyla, Kaelyn, Kiera; great grandchildren Drake, Blake, and Duncan; as well as by nieces and nephews in California, Toronto, and Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Norman; mother, Gladys (Wood); father William; and brother Mel.
Born in Winnipeg, Joy grew up in River Heights on Cambridge Street and attended Kelvin High School. She worked for the RCMP and at the Grain Exchange where she met her husband Norman and married March 27, 1943. Joy was very active with volunteer work at the Children's Hospital with the Lt. Melville Wood Guild and later the Anne A. Bond Guild. She was very persuasive in getting Norman to help with the Book Market for many years. She was also active in her community and her church organizing receptions for funerals with her friend Sheila.
Joy loved the times spent throughout her life at Detroit Lakes, later on at Granite Lake with Nancy, Barb, Ginny and Paul, Lake of the Woods and the Family cabin at West Hawk Lake.
A Celebration of Joy’s Life will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Drive.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Manor for loving and caring for Joy; you are truly angels.
