Richard Wojcik's Funeral Chapel - Garry Almas Funeral Arrangements

GARRY ALMAS

Peacefully, after a difficult and complex illness, Garry went home to his Maker on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 64 years.
Left to sorely miss Garry are his wife Katherine of 24 years of marriage; in-laws Lois and Wallace English of Peterborough, ON; dear family and friends from both Canada and the USA; and many of his students.  He was predeceased by his loving grandparents, Bertha and Carl Brown of Bothwell, ON.
Garry a high school teacher from The Pas, MB, formerly from ON, enjoyed travel and teaching with Katherine. History buff, avid reader and thinker, he was interested in many current issues, and loved to debate. Garry will be dearly remembered for his joy for life, knowledge, humour, courage, generous spirit, outgoing good nature, inspiration to others, and his faith in an Almighty God.
A Memorial Service will be held in The Pas, MB later this month. Interment will take place in Ontario at a later date.
Thanks to the medical staff of The Pas Hospital, Riverview Centre, and the Health Sciences MICU and GA medical ward for your care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Garry's favourite charities, The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P.O. Box 670, Station K, Toronto, ON M4P 2H1, or Samaritan's Purse, 20 Hopewell Way NE Calgary, AB, T3J 5H5
