MARY
REID ANDERSON
(nee
GRAY)
Peacefully
on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 Mary passed away at Oakview Place Personal Care
Home in her 95th year.
Mary is survived by sons; James (Jo Anne) and
Alan (Joanne); grandchildren, Cameron (Karin); Candace, Tara (Cam) and Matthew;
great grandchildren Paige and Everett; as well as niece Brenda and nephew
Russell and their families in Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Bert
(1998); son Kenneth; grandson Christopher; as well as her brothers Jim and
Nelson Gray.
Our mom was born in Ontario in Elma Township
and grew up on the family farm near Listowel, Ontario. She constantly enjoyed
gardening and tending to her house plants, reading, bingo, music, dancing,
birds, animals and especially cats.
Many
good times were spent with Candace and her dog Runt. Candace took Grandma
exploring the zoo, the Forks, many malls and thrift stores. Mary’s favourite
time of year was when the entire family celebrated her Christmas birthday.
Mom
requested no formal service except for a private family celebration of her
life.
Many thanks to all the wonderful staff at
Oakview Place for mom’s care and being her home away from home which gave her a
social life she thoroughly enjoyed.
In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s memory to a charity of your
choice.
