HON. LT./COL. SYDNEY J. CHAPMAN
It is with great sadness that we
announce the sudden passing of Syd Chapman on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the
St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 93 years.
Left to forever cherish Syd’s memory
are his daughter Shelley (Jeff); grandchildren Megan, Taylor, Colin and Krista;
daughters in law Rosemary and Lynnet Chapman; and sister Doreen (Ken).
He was predeceased by his wife Mary (1986); sons Gary (2003) and Kenny
(2011); and brother Derek.
Syd was born in Birmingham, England
and served in the RAF during World War 2. In 1949, he moved to Canada
with Mary and their sons. He was a Certified Chef du Cuisine and taught
food services at Tec Voc and Sturgeon Creek High School until his
retirement. Syd was an avid member of 402 Squadron Reserve for many years
and received the rank of Honorary Lt/Colonel. He enjoyed cooking, reading and
socializing at his residence Villa Cabrini.

A private family Service will be held
in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’ Funeral Chapel.
