LAURA COWARD
Our one and only
beautiful, vivacious, talented daughter, Laura Coward passed away at the Health
Sciences Centre ICU on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 after a crucial fall in her
suite and other medical complications.
She tried so hard to survive with much suffering.
Laura
is survived by her mother Norma Coward and father John Ronald Coward; Auntie
Alma Bevan (Joe) of Green Bay, Wisconsin; numerous cousins throughout the
United States; Joyce and Alec Chance of Vancouver, BC and many special friends
in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her
grandparents; Aunt Ruth Rawdon (Winnipeg) and Aunt Daneta Downie (Savannah,
Georgia).
On
January 19, 1963 Laura was born Winnipeg.
As a youngster she attended Saturday morning art classes at the Winnipeg
Art Gallery until classes were finally stopped.
She also took classical ballet with the Mary Strome School of Dance from
age seven to 14 years old, ending on her toes for exams. Laura was an achiever,
graduating from John Taylor Collegiate with a Scholarship to enter the
University of Winnipeg attaining her Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in
Psychology. While in High School, she
played flute in the school band and also participated in several musicals.
Laura
worked for the City of Winnipeg as a Permit Technician in Planning Property and
Development Department for 21 years until she fell ill. She was a kind hearted, fun loving person who
loved to dance, cook and tried her best
in everything.
In compliance with Laura’s wishes,
there will be no funeral service.
