Wojcik's Funeral Home - Morley Hoffman Funeral Arrangements

MORLEY ERNEST HOFFMAN

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Morley Hoffman on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 58 years.
Left to survive Morley are his brother Garry (Sandra) of Winnipeg; sister Gail (Russ) of Campbell River, B.C.; brother Irwin (Penny) of Tuffnell, Saskatchewan; nieces (Shanna, Melanie, Jill, Lana, Sarah, Rachel, Heidi); nephew (Alexander); as well as numerous great-nieces/nephews; relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Irene Hoffman.
Morley grew up on a farm in Tuffnell, Saskatchewan as the youngest of four children.  He enjoyed fishing, curling and was an avid card and game player. Playing a game with Morley was a competitive sport, he would play fair but he was playing to win.  He also enjoyed teasing and poking fun of his family and friends in a good natured way, which was often followed by his trademark "Morley chuckle." In his professional days, Morley moved to Calgary, Alberta and then Winnipeg where he enjoyed a career at Mediacom hanging billboards around the city.  Unfortunately, an accident on the job in February 1999 led to him being wheelchair bound for the latter part of his life. There were many ups and downs through the years, but these challenges were made easier through the support of his family and friends. Lyle and Leo were great friends to Morley, often helping him and spending time playing cards or visiting him. He also developed a special relationship with his homecare providers, in particular Lauren. She went above and beyond to take care of Morley and provide companionship to him. Morley also had two cats, John-Paul and Garry, who brought him love and entertainment through the years. Although he was sometimes a little gruff on the exterior, he had a kind heart and his love for his family and friends was always felt and will be missed.
A Celebration of Morley’s Life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3.

….I stood there in the salt spray air
Felt wind sweeping over my face
I ran up through the rocks to the old
Wooden cross
It's a place where I can find some peace…

Narrow daylight entered my room
Shining hours were brief
Winter is over
Summer is near
Are we stronger than we believe?

Wojcik's Funeral Chapel - Cindy Herrington Funeral Arrangements

CINDY MICHELLE HERRINGTON
(nee LETOURNEAU)

Our much loved Cindy has been welcomed home to the arms of the creator after a brave battle with cancer. Cindy passed with peace and grace on Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Health Sciences Center at the age of 46 years. She was taken from us way too soon.
Those of us touched by Cindy’s blessings and left with many fond memories are, sons Christopher and Joel; mother, Marie Buckle (nee Hotovec); father Guy Letourneau; step father Bob Buckle; brothers Dodd Letourneau, Chris Buckle (sister in law Lynne Buckle), Cory Letourneau; and sister Leanne Letourneau. She also leaves her nephews Kyle and Chase Letourneau, Nicholas Winters, Kyle Desjarlais, Phillip and Cory Zirk, and Nieces Brittney, Kaely and Nikki Buckle, Karise Orellana and Chelsie Zirk; and her “sister friend” Betty Hirniak.  So many others at work and throughout her life will never forget how she touched them including Esther Meisner, Dawn, Tracy, and Ric to name only a few. Cindy was predeceased by her beloved husband and father of her two sons, Michael Herrington; sweet daughter Michelle Herrington; wonderful step-mother, Gwen Smith of Winnipeg; mother in law Jeanette Schneider of Florida; and her grandparents.
Cindy worked as a special needs Educational Assistant in the Louis Riel School Division. She was born to do this job and loved the children she worked with as if they were her own. Everywhere she went, Cindy left warmth, love and laughter. She had a way of smoothing over life with her dry, sarcastic humor right to her last days. But what she loved the most was her family, in particular her boys, Joel and Chris. There was no one who could know Cindy without knowing that.  They were her everything. Cindy collected antiques, enjoyed camping, the Winnipeg Jets and Big Brother. She loved animals especially her cats and her dog Serena. She recently purchased a home and was proud to be able to live there with her sons.
In compliance with Cindy’s wishes, there will not be a Funeral, just a simple family get-together at a later date.
We wish to thank Winnipeg Cancer Center and all the nurses and doctors there, especially Jacques on the 3rd floor. Also, thanks to Dr. Tim Hiebert and his nurse Lisa of the Palliative Care Team for the dignity and gentleness they brought to this difficult process. WILLIAM JAMES (JIM) GALE

It is with heavy hearts we announce, William James Gale passed away at the Grace Hospital, peacefully and with his family at his side on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the age of 65 years.
Left to forever cherish Jim’s memory are his wife Linda Barker; sons, Richard (Donna McKay) Gale, Kelly (Jodie) Gale; extended family Krista Barker (Rick Delaine), and Shannon (James) Ford. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Wesley McKay, Jayda McKay-Gale, Tyler and Megan Gale, Ashlyn Delaine and Justine Ford; his brothers and sisters, Dan, Nancy, Bob, Doreen and Debbie; numerous nieces; nephews and his longtime friends Bobby Reed and Uncle Pete. He was predeceased by both his parents David and Dorothy Gale; and granddaughter Alyssa.
Growing up on Ferry Road Jim attended Brittanica School. He was always ambitious and hardworking and from an early age would actively seek out little jobs to earn spending money. He also enjoyed spending time skating and at dances at the Airways Community Club with his buddies.
Jim worked numerous jobs over the years. After McGavins Foods, he ventured into self-employment as a co-owner operator of MR Fleet. More recently, he worked for the Seven Oaks School Division. Jim had a great fondness for the staff and students he worked with over the years. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing with family and friends. He was always present in his sons’ lives and in their many ventures, including helping them with motocross and sprint racing. Jim took great pride in his annual canning marathon of tomatoes, pickles and onions. He had a great passion for cars. He was often found in his garage tinkering or fixing something. Jim always had a project on the go and was always happy to help a friend.
In compliance with Jim’s wishes there will be a celebration to honor him at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 in the Army Navy & Air Force, Unit 283-3584 Portage Avenue.
Our family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate and outstanding care he received from the doctors, nurses, and staff on D6 at Health Sciences Centre and Cancer Care Manitoba.
We respectfully decline flowers. Donations if you so choose may be made in Jim’s memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, or a charity of one’s choice.
