RICCARDO SANDRON
August 20, 1923 - January 26, 2013
Peacefully in his sleep, with his family at his side, Riccardo  passed away at the age of 89 years.
Riccardo will be lovingly remembered by his wife Rina; daughter Letizia; son Felice; daughter- in-law Brigitte; grandchildren Nigel, Timothy, Reanna and Elysa; sisters Adalgisa, Dusolina and Lidia; and friend Theo Joseph. He was predeceased by his parents Assunta and Clemente; brothers Guido, Pierro, and Mario; and sisters Anna and Emma.
Born in Fossalta di Portogruaro, Italy; Riccardo met the love of his life, Rina, after he returned from World War II.  They were happily married for over 60 years. He was an industrious man, determined to provide the best for his family, so he left for Canada in 1956 in search of a brighter future. His original plan was to stay for one year, but he lived the rest of his amazing life with his family in Winnipeg.
Riccardo always put family first. He instilled a love for learning and a passion for adventure within his children and grandchildren.  Many happy times were spent having Sunday dinner with the family.  He also enjoyed many vacations in Italy. He was a true craftsmen working until he was 67 years old for Heymann’s Masonry. He loved to work with his hands and putter in his garage. His family and friends benefitted from his talent and generosity.
Riccardo looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. Always willing to strike up a conversation, he enjoyed friendship with his neighbours and had a great time celebrating with his friends in the Italian community.  He was proud of the wine he made. He loved to laugh.
