NETTIE MYSENIUK
(nee KOCHANOWSKI)
January 14, 1921 - May 19, 2014
We
mourn the passing of our mother, Nettie. She died unexpectedly with her
daughter, Marion, son-in-law Bob, son Bill, and daughter-in-law Debbie by her
side on Monday, May 19, 2014 at West Park Manor at the age of 93 years.
Nettie
will be sadly missed by her children Olga (Alan) Foy, Marion (Bob)
Leavens-Laforge, Bill (Debbie) Myseniuk; grandchildren Laura (Chris), Stephanie
(Ryan), Meghan (Paul) and Lindsay (Rob); great grandchildren Ben, Ellya,
Jackson, Kayla, Riley and Payton; sister-in-law Mary Kochanowski; and nieces
Terry, Margie, Linda, Lisa and their families. She was predeceased by her
husband, Nick, in 1981; mother, Mary Kochanowski, in 1994; and brothers Nick
Kochanowski in 2007 and Bill Kane in 2012.
On
January 14, 1921 Nettie was born to Mike and Mary Kochanowski. She grew up
in Silver, Manitoba, and later moved to Winnipeg where she worked and met
husband Nick. They lived in various locations throughout Northwestern
Ontario, where Nick was employed by the CNR. Nettie later moved to Winnipeg
where she owned and operated a rental property. In later years, she lived
at Sunset House and Arlington Haus before moving to West Park Manor in October,
2010. She made many friends along the way and was a long time member of
St. Ivan Suchavsky Ukranian Orthodox Cathedral. Nettie was a very kind and
compassionate woman and was dearly loved by her family and all who knew her.
A
private family service will be held to celebrate Nettie’s life in the Chapel of
Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, on Friday,
May 23, 2014 with Rev. Fr. Gene Maximiuk of St. Ivan Suchavsky, presider.
The
family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the nursing staff at
West Park Manor for their compassionate care throughout the last 3 1/2 years.
