DOREEN (DODIE) RIEDLE
(nee MESTDAGH)
Surrounded by her
family, Doreen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 after a
brief illness at the age of 83 years.
Doreen was the beloved
wife of Anthony Riedle; loving mother of Brian Scammell (Elaine), Glen Scammell, Lynne Watson
(Robert), Mary Scrapneck (Ronald), Sean Riedle (Tanya); stepsons, Paul Riedle (Rose)
and Brian Riedle (Diana); proud grandmother to Shannon,
Ron, Rylie, Cameron, Sam, Erin, Amy, Allyson, Justin, Braden, Liam and Simon. Also
left to mourn her passing are her six great-grandchildren; sisters Joan
Rebiffe and Diane Hauser; sisters-in-law Dorothy Mestdagh and Pat McQueen;
as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed and lovingly
remembered by her family and friends. Doreen was
predeceased by her first husband Ronald Scammell; brother Donald Mestdagh; and
parents Cyrille and Natalia.
Working as a childcare
provider for many years; Doreen was much loved by the children and families she
worked with. Her life has seen many trials that she has overcome with quiet
grace and dignity. Despite this, Doreen always had a smile and is remembered by
many for her kindness.
On Tuesday, June 10,
2014 Doreen’s Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Saint Gerard Roman
Catholic Church, 45 Foster Street, Winnipeg, MB with Rev. Fr. Greg Mulligan,
presiding.
Interment will be held
at a later date in Glen Eden Cemetery.
Many thanks to the
caring staff at Riverview Health Centre, palliative care unit, who made
Doreen's final days as comfortable as possible.
In lieu of flowers, donations in
Doreen's memory can be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation.
