PATRICIA MAY JENKINS
(nee BEAMISH - BARNES)
It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of Pat. She ended her journey with cancer on Sunday, June
16, 2013.
Pat leaves to mourn her husband
Raymond; daughter Donna (Jeff); Ray's children, Susan (Mona), Ross; sisters
Bonnie and Marion; numerous nieces and nephews, Brian, Neil (Maggie) Barnes and
many friends from along the way. She was predeceased by her mother Jackie;
father Donald; father in law Ernest Barnes and mother in law Olive Barnes.
On June 3, 1948 Pat was born to
Jacqueline Harrison and Donald Beamish. She met and married Brian in the 60's
and they had one daughter Donna. Pat worked retail for most of her career and
made many friends along the way.
In the late 90's Pat met Ray and they
were married in May 1998. They spent many summers out at Star Lake, took winter
holidays, road trips to Calgary to see Susan, and shopping trips to US.
Pat had an incredible sense of
humor. If you knew her, you laughed with her.
She was warm, caring and loved her family. She made awesome perogies,
terrific lemon meringue pie, and amazing butter tarts. Pat always put extra
raisins in her butter tarts. This was for Ray's enjoyment and to Donna's
dismay. She loved her dogs and it pained her when she was no longer able to
walk “Walker". Pat and Donna walked the dogs many, many miles over the
years around the neighborhood and out at the lake. These long walks will be
greatly missed. Golden Retrievers were always her favorite and we know all of them
were there to greet her in heaven. Give Amber, J.C., Brandy and Captain Morgan
a big hug from all of us.
On Thursday, June 20, 2013 Pat’s
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Victoria Inn Hotel, 1808
Wellington Avenue. A private Interment has been held in Brookside Cemetery,
3001 Notre Dame Avenue.
A huge thank you is extended to Dr.
Pat Harris, Dr. Joel Gingerich, Dr. Wong, the awesome teams at Grace Cancer
Care, St. Boniface Pain and Symptom Clinic, and Riverview Health Centre. We met many, many, awesome, caring and
compassionate people along the way.
Donations in Pat's memory may be
made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or any animal shelter of one's choice; because
of her love for animals
