- 2013
It
is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Nellie
Hollier on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Golden West Lodge at the age of 91
years.
Remaining
to forever cherish Nellie’s wishes are her daughter, Pat Wirth of Winnipeg and
son Terry (Terry Ellen) Hollier of Selkirk, Manitoba. Mom was graced with nine
grandchildren, ten great - grandchildren and one great-great -grandchild. She
was pre-deceased by her husband, James Hollier; son, John Hollier; daughter,
Dawn Benson; son-in-law, Doug Wirth and by son-in-law, Robert Benson.
Mom was born in England where she met her husband James and
came to Canada as a war bride. She raised four children in the St. James area
and was employed for many years at Deer Lodge Centre from 1964 as Executive
Housekeeper, until her retirement in 1987 at the age of 65. Mom & Dad
enjoyed camping, fishing, and the great outdoors. She had fond memories of her
trip back to England and Mexico.
In compliance with Nellie's wishes, no formal service will
be held. A family gathering to celebrate Mom's life will be held at a later
date. As per her wishes, she will be buried with her husband in Oak Lake,
Manitoba at a later date.
Our
family would like to express our sincere and many thanks to the wonderful,
caring staff at Golden West Lodge, especially on the 4th floor for their
wonderful care.
