WOJCIK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL ENTRUSTED TO JAMES WILLIAM GRAHAM

James William Graham (Jim) cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, died on Friday, November 2, 2012 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife of 49 years, Sylvia, Winnipeg MB; 4 children: Paul (Kathleen), Winnipeg, Laura Graham-Prentice (Garry), Toronto, ON, Patrick (Sandy), Winnipeg and Leanne Drad (Grant), St. Andrews; 9 grandchildren; his mother Isabel, Shawville QC; and 2 siblings - Murray (Gisele), Embrun, ON; Diane Graham-Lynn (Steve), Westport, ON. He was predeceased by his father, Roland (1987). Jim was born on August 31, 1941 in Shawville, Québec, the son of Isabel (Murray) and Roland Graham. He was raised on Broadview farm in Wyman, Québec and then entered the work force immediately after graduation. On March 30, 1963 he married Sylvia Sanders in Kirkland Lake, ON, and together they raised 4 children. Jim's professional career was spent with the Bank of Canada until his retirement in 1995. His retirement allowed him to follow his passions in life which included his family, curling, golf, traveling, genealogy and his Scottish heritage and a cottage on Lake Winnipeg. Jim served as president of the Deer Lodge Curling Club assisting with many local, national and international curling events and was awarded an honorary life member. He will be remembered by his family as a loving husband, a dedicated father who celebrated in his children's accomplishments and as an adoring and proud grandfather who attended all of the grandchildren's school and sporting events and special moments which they have described as meaning "the world" to them. Friends and neighbors could always count on Jim to lend an ear or a helping hand. On Saturday, November 10, 2012 Jim’s Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue, Winnipeg. Interment will be held in July, 2013 in Norway Bay, QC. The family wishes to express their thanks to the palliative care teams, both at home and at Riverview Health Centre and the generous and overwhelming support from extended family, friends and colleagues which cannot be adequately expressed.
