ALEXANDER
DONALD OSTROWSKI
It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Alex
Ostrowski. On Tuesday May 6, 2014 Alex peacefully passed away.
Alex will be fondly remembered by his
children Sharon (Tim), Sheila (Barry); grandchildren, Alexis, Brett, Carmen and
Marcella; great grandchildren Rachel, Nathan and Adam; and brother Melvin.
He
was predeceased by his wife Beatrice; parents Lillian and Joseph; and two
infant sisters Adolpha and Alberta. All who knew him, especially his family,
will sadly miss him.
On June 21, 1927 Alex was born on the farm in
Polonia, Manitoba. He later moved to Winnipeg, where he met his wife Beatrice
and raised their family. Alex took great pride in his family and his work and
was especially fond of the wonderful times he shared with his family in the
summer at Gull Lake and later at Lac du Bonnet with his grandchildren. He
always believed in family first, and was well known for his words of wisdom.
Alex will always be remembered for his kindness, willingness to help others,
his love of animals and gardening.
On Saturday, May 10, 2014 Alex’s Funeral
Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
We thank the wonderful compassionate staff at
West Park Manor for all the years of care and support they have given to our
dear father. They truly became part of our family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to
the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 – 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg,
