Wojcik's Funeral Chapel - Amelia Loveless Funeral Arrangements

AMELIA LOVELESS
(nee GRANTER)
April 13, 1937- May 21-2013

During the early hours of Tuesday morning, May 21, 2013 Amelia Loveless passed to her eternal reward at the Grace Hospice at the age of 76 years.
Amelia passed peacefully with her husband of nearly 55 years, William (Bill), by her side. She leaves behind her daughter, Andrea (Kelly Daun); son, David (Lori); eight grandchildren; two sisters, Rosalie (Howard Toms), Charlotte (Dorman Goulding) both of Newfoundland; a number of brothers and Sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and dear friends.
In 1954, Amelia graduated from The Salvation Army College, and during that year won the distinguished honor of the Rotary Club Speaking Contest for all of Newfoundland.  Shortly after graduation she began teaching at her alma mater just prior to fulfilling her calling and entering The Salvation Army Officers’ Training College in 1955.  Amelia was ordained as a Salvation Army Officer in 1956, and spent many years alongside Bill pastoring her congregation.  She had a passion for ministering to people and spent the last 18 years of her career as a chaplain in Salvation Army Nursing Homes.  She was a gifted speaker and often spoke at Women’s Conferences within the Salvation Army, as well as other denominations.  Amelia was a devoted wife, a caring mother, a great encourager and advocate, and a passionate Prayer Warrior.  Despite being a full time pastor she found time to enjoy knitting and sewing, reading a great book, and cooking for her family.
Amelia retired in 1998 from her Chaplaincy position at The Salvation Army Golden West Lodge.  Since then, with her husband Bill, enjoyed travelling, spending time at their cottage in Bel Aire, and in the last two years spent blessed summers at Beulah Camp on the St. John River.  Amelia shared her time volunteering at the Grace Hospital Gift Shop, and was presented with her 15 year pin while still a patient at the Grace, a pin she wore with great pride.
Although it is sad to see Amelia go, we know her body and voice are once again whole and she is basking in the joys of Heaven.  Here on earth we will be celebrating Amelia’s life on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in The Salvation Army Heritage Park Temple, 825 School Road, Winnipeg, MB.
The family would like to express their thanks to the kind Doctors, Nurses and other staff that helped them through their recent journey.  Special thanks go to the Staff of Grace Hospice.  There are no words to describe your kindness, thoughtfulness and labour of love.  You made an unbearable journey, bearable.  God bless each of you!!
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Hospice. 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB.
