Richard Wojcik Funeral Director - Myrtle Kennedy Funeral Service Arrangements

MYRTLE KENNEDY

On Wednesday, October 31, 2012, Myrtle Kennedy passed away peacefully at Oakview Place Personal Care Home. She had just recently celebrated her 90th birthday on June 7, 2012.
Myrtle, along with her father William, brother Walter and sister Emma arrived in Winnipeg from Ireland when she was a young girl.  Her mother Margaret, followed later.  Her infant brother William remained in Ireland with family and never did come to Canada.
Aunty Myrtle, as we called her, was a member of the Emmanuel United Pentecostal Church. We (her adopted family) met her through our Grandma (Helen Elwood) over fifty years ago. She worked in a sewing factory and at Eiffel Tower Bakery.  Her favorite hobbies were knitting and watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
On Wednesday, November 7, 2012 Myrtle’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue @ Sharp Boulevard. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue.
We wish to thank all those who drove Myrtle to and from church for so many years. She always mentioned how grateful she was. We would also like to thank Oakview Place staff for taking such good care of her, especially Gabby (Natalie).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrtle’s memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3 or to the charity of your choice.
Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel is in care of arrangements.
