Peacefully
on Saturday, December 20, 2014 Bernice Mary Lee (Barlow) loving mother,
grandmother, and great grandmother passed on to join her beloved husband Harry.
Bernice
lived her life for her eight children, Murray (Donna), Allen, Brenda, Bruce,
Dixie (Bill), Merle, Marvin (Barb), Noreen (Tim); as well as her sixteen
grandchildren, Melanie, Breena, Heath, Trevor, Chris, Garry, Daniel, Angela,
Rodney, Morgan, Myriah, Jason, Andrew, Chelsea, Brendan, Jordan and ten great-
grandchildren. She also leaves
behind to mourn her passing sisters, Dorothy, Sylvia (Einar); several nieces
and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Horace ‘Harry’; parents
Marshall and Gladys Barlow; sister Elsie and daughter-in-law Pat.
On
December 26, 1921 Bernice was born near Lundar, Manitoba. She grew up happily
on her parent’s farm where her love of nature began. As a young woman Bernice
moved to Winnipeg to work where she later met her husband.
Bernice
had a great love for nature and spent many hours tending to her gardens,
watching wildlife and going on family walks. Mum could tell her family all the
many different names of wildlife and plants. She had a great love for cooking
and baking, and loved to prepare dinners for family gatherings.
The
entire family would like to thank her son Bruce for his devoted care giving of
Mum. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden West Centennial
Personal Care Home for the quality and comfort that they gave to our mother.
At
our Mother’s request a family celebration of life will be held in the summer.
In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army or a charity of
your choice in Memory of Bernice.
