JOYCE MAY SMITH
(nee BOURGEOIS)
It is with great sadness that the family of
Joyce Smith announces her passing after a long illness, on Tuesday, May 11,
2010, at the age of 73 years.
Remaining
to forever cherish Joyce’s memory are her children, Roderick (Corinne), Timothy
(Debby), Bradley (Janice), Keith; two adopted children, Sheldon and Ernie.
Nanny will also be forever remembered by her five grandchildren Nicholas,
Jenelle, Christian, Haley and Justine. She was predeceased by her parents Susan
Scully and Steven Bourgeois.
Joyce
was born August 20th, 1936 in Winnipeg an only child. Her greatest passions in
life were her family, friends, bingo, knitting and reading. She had an
incredible giving heart and over her lifetime helped many in need while
expecting nothing in return. Joyce made friends wherever she went and would
never hesitate to give you anything she had, even if it meant she had to go
without. Mom was a precious gift given to us from god and was the guardian
angel to everyone she touched.
On
Wednesday, May 19th a Celebration of Mom’s life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main
Street @ Manitoba Avenue. A private family Interment will be held at a later
date in the St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald Street, Winnipeg Manitoba.
The
family would like to express a thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for
taking such good care of their mom.
Donations in Joyce’s memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation, 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C
2B7.

the angels come to visit us,
