Dear Sirs & Madams,
I just wished to send a brief message regarding the service for Mrs. Doris Elna MacDonald on Nov. 24, 2010
My name is John Spisich ( Toronto ), son-in-law to the deceased and brother-in-law to Joan and Maureen MacDonald, husband of Barbara MacDonald.
The presentation and surroundings at Wojciks was very appropriate, professional and memorable. Carol Richardson was absolutely professional, congenial, empathic and so much more. She even helped ( me during the snow storm ) to carry out some of the flowers and remaining food, etc. Thank you so much Carol.
A special commendation to Carol, for I know what her job entails. I was a church organist for over 15 years for Holy Rosary Parrish in Winnipeg. I have seen weddings, masses, and both open-casket and closed-casket funerals, the latter being very tough to handle for anyone who has any emotions whatsoever or has lost a loved one(s). Carol must see one or more distraught families/friends daily -- it is a very tough profession to try and remain detached. I do not envy Carol's responsibilities, but I do admire her tenacity and sincerity.
Please let her know how I feel, and let her know, in order to uplift peoples' spirits, I have a knack for inserting some humour into others' memories. Let her know the comments about the iced tea, chairs, column were purely a method of handling the emotions of the moment. I would recommend your funeral home and Carol in a moment, but I hope I never have to, if you know what I mean . . . but as they always remind us, no one lives forever and the only certainty in life is death and taxes.
Thanx for giving us a final opportunity to remember Mom and say good-bye at your chapel. It is more appreciated than you know.
John Spisich
