Peacefully, Dad passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Deer Lodge Centre. Ed will be remembered by his sons Norm (Connie), Greg (Lisa); daughter Barbara (Sonny) and granddaughters, Erin, Diana, Carlea, Chelsea and Stephanie. Ed was predeceased by and sorely missed his wife Marie. Dad was born in Winnipeg on August 24, 1930. He grew up in the Weston area with a large family of 8 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by 1 brother, Gerald. He spent the majority of his working career in the furniture moving industry. He did this back breaking work for well over 40 years to support his family retiring at age 65. Mom and Dad chose to raise their family in St. James where the airplanes fly low and the sun always shines. Both were great sports fans. The cheered for the Jets and had season tickets for the Bombers for many years. Dad’s last couple of years were spent at the Deer Lodge Centre where he received great care from the staff on 4 West. In compliance with Dad’s wishes there will be no Funeral Service. If so desired a donation to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation 2109 Portage Ave. R3J 0L3 may be made in Ed’s name. Robert Earle MacKeen (Bob), beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the age of 68 years. Bob was a man of few words with a big heart. He spent 36 years in the Canadian Armed Forces—Air Force and achieved his goal of Chief Warrant Officer half way through. Bob will be greatly missed by his family - his wife of 44 years, Ellie; his sons, Stephen and Timothy (Janet) and his three grandchildren, Hanna, Devon and Conner. On Tuesday, November 6, 2012 Doris Nykiforuk, died in her home at the age of 53 years with her beloved wife, soul-mate, and best friend, Deborah (Debbie) Nichols, by her side. In honouring Doris’s wishes, she stayed at home until her last breath, took God’s hand, and passed through this world to prove that only the very best become angels. Left to cherish Doris’ memory are her wife, Deborah Nichols; parents, Beatrice and Andy Parisien; brother and sister-in-law, Corey and Corina Parisien. She also leaves behind beautiful memories for her “brother” cousin, Jody Witwicki (Lori) their children Wolfgang and Sebastian; cousins Conrad Witwicki and Tracey Witwicki; nephew Matthew Greene; niece Melissa Parisien; Matthew’s mother Annette Greene and family; cousins Karen and Melinda; all of Debbie’s family, including sister-in-law Lori Boschelli; and many friends in Canada and the United States. She was predeceased by her granny, Lillian Witwicki, from Crane River First Nations. Doris battled an aggressive cancer – Glioblastoma – that ravaged her brain, but left her beautiful spirit to remain. Prior to her diagnosis, she was a nurse (graduate of University of Manitoba, 1992), and worked here in Winnipeg, most recently at the Deer Lodge Centre, and previously in North Carolina at the Memorial Mission Hospital. She worked in NICU and Psych and was deeply respected by all her co-workers and patients. Doris faced life with an indomitable spirit, irresistible smile, and infectious personality. She was funny and goofy, but was also gentle and kind. She cherished and spoiled her puppy “babies,” Abby, Riley, and Lexie, and her greatest personal treasures were her family. In her last year and a half of life, Doris treasured every moment. Although our hearts are broken, we accept that she’s at peace and are comforted knowing that she is watching over us. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue. Peacefully, at home, after a lengthy illness Ray passed away at the age of 73 years. Left to cherish Ray’s memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Irene; children Karen, Kimberly (Mike); grandchildren Bryson, Coleton, Chelsea, Liam, Joshua and Rae Lynne; twin brother Roger (Joan); sister-in-law Grace (Mickey) Costanza; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son Kenneth; and parents Rose and Frank. Dad had a great love for dogs, gardening and particular fondness for fishing. On Thursday, November 15, 2012 Ray’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. in St. Mary Anglican Church, 3830 Roblin Blvd. A special thank you to the St. Boniface Hospital Renal Clinic. WOJCIK'S FUNERAL HOME ENTRUSTED TO NORMAN VINCENT SUNDSTROM

It is with profound grief that we announce the passing of Norman Vincent Sundstrom following a courageous battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his beloved family: his wife Helen, sister Ingrid, daughters Karin (Andy) and Kathryn, sister-in-law Fran, grandchildren Matthew and Mila, cousins Susan (Ken), Carol (George), Gary (Gale) and their families, and Ed and Hana Paryzek. He will also be greatly missed by many close and dear friends - especially Richard and Elizabeth Grover, Norm Larsen, John Meush, Jill Patrick, Bill and Helen Christie, Sandy Walker, Bob Donnelly, Ray and Joan Mullen, and Lyle and Kathy Spencer. Norm was born in Geraldton, Ontario and spent his early years in Nipigon until the family moved to Winnipeg when he was 12 years old. Following high school, in order to finance a university education, Norm worked for the Hudson's Bay Company in several remote northern locations - Baker Lake, Cambridge Bay and Pukatawagan. Returning to Winnipeg, he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, and then taught history and science at the Elm Creek High School. Subsequently, he earned his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Manitoba and began his law career at Legal Aid Manitoba working first in Winnipeg and then in Dauphin. He then established a private practice in Selkirk and Winnipeg and taught, on occasion, a criminal law course at Red River College. He ultimately joined the Manitoba Department of Justice in 1990 working as a magistrate until his retirement in June of 2010. Norm believed in living life to the fullest while here, and will be remembered for his wide and varied interests. He took pride in the beautiful cottage that he built at Sioux Narrows, Ontario with its beamed ceiling and handmade bent willow chairs, as well as his many woodworking, pottery and painting projects. He was a voracious and eclectic reader, an expert on ancient Greek culture, the American Civil War, world history, politics and natural sciences. He was a defender of feminist ideas, a generous and loyal friend with a formidable intellect and a keen sense of humour. He was a devoted husband who loved his wife "more than anything", and was a dedicated and involved father who taught his daughters everything from how to ski to mathematics to morality. The family enjoyed many weekends and summers at the cottage, spring skiing in the mountains at Bozeman, Montana as well as countless evenings walking the dogs. His legacy will become the way in which he lived his life. His wife and daughters would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the many friends and family members that visited Norm during his illness. You brought joy to his life during an otherwise unbearable time. The family would also like to acknowledge the staff of both the WRHA Home Care Program and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for the compassionate care they gave to Norman. A celebration of Norman's life will take place at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday November 20th at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery). Flowers gratefully declined. WOJCIK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL ENTRUSTED TO YVONNE MARIE ELISABETH DONALDSON

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend, Yvonne Marie Elisabeth Donaldson, at the age of 80 years. Yvonne is survived by her daughters Carin and Vicky; grandchildren Crystal, Devin and Jordan; great granddaughter Phoenix; and many other special friends. On February 4, 1932 Yvonne was born in Stolkholm, Sweden. As a young girl she began a career in show business as an actress and fashion model. She enjoyed many of life's luxuries and traveled abroad with her many friends. She then met and married her first husband Hans Liljequist in Sweden in 1951, and in 1952 they came to Canada together looking for new and prosperous opportunities. Yvonne took on a job that she loved with the CBC in 1954 as a script assistant. It was there that she met and married her second husband, and father of her 2 children, Derek 'Irish' Donaldson. Yvonne truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. One of her best memories was when her children were growing up she would have a house full of kids. Always ready to listen and give advice to those young teens. Classical music, fast cars, and days at the beach were some of her many loves. In compliance with Yvonne’s wishes there will be no Funeral Service. Peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, Celina (Sally) Bailey passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 85 years. She was born July 29, 1927 to Arthur and Laurentine Morin. Left to cherish Celina’s memory are her sons Donald (Julie) and Douglas; daughter Diane; grandson Matthew; granddaughter Lianne; sisters Odile, Albertine, Delia and sister in law Jean. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Bailey; parents Arthur and Laurentine Morin; brothers Leo and Louis Morin. On Wednesday, November 14, 2012 a Celebration of Celina’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Meeting Room, 101 – 61 Tyndall Avenue. Interment will be held at a later date.
