WOJCIK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL ENTRUSTED TO YVONNE MARIE ELISABETH DONALDSON

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and friend, Yvonne Marie Elisabeth Donaldson, at the age of 80 years. Yvonne is survived by her daughters Carin and Vicky; grandchildren Crystal, Devin and Jordan; great granddaughter Phoenix; and many other special friends. On February 4, 1932 Yvonne was born in Stolkholm, Sweden. As a young girl she began a career in show business as an actress and fashion model. She enjoyed many of life's luxuries and traveled abroad with her many friends. She then met and married her first husband Hans Liljequist in Sweden in 1951, and in 1952 they came to Canada together looking for new and prosperous opportunities. Yvonne took on a job that she loved with the CBC in 1954 as a script assistant. It was there that she met and married her second husband, and father of her 2 children, Derek 'Irish' Donaldson. Yvonne truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. One of her best memories was when her children were growing up she would have a house full of kids. Always ready to listen and give advice to those young teens. Classical music, fast cars, and days at the beach were some of her many loves. In compliance with Yvonne’s wishes there will be no Funeral Service. Peacefully on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, Celina (Sally) Bailey passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 85 years. She was born July 29, 1927 to Arthur and Laurentine Morin. Left to cherish Celina’s memory are her sons Donald (Julie) and Douglas; daughter Diane; grandson Matthew; granddaughter Lianne; sisters Odile, Albertine, Delia and sister in law Jean. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Bailey; parents Arthur and Laurentine Morin; brothers Leo and Louis Morin. On Wednesday, November 14, 2012 a Celebration of Celina’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Meeting Room, 101 – 61 Tyndall Avenue. Interment will be held at a later date. On November 7, at the age of 62, Oliver lost a hard battle to cancer. He leaves behind his daughters Michelle (Rob) deJonge, Stacy, son Kyle (Kate). Grandsons Preston, Madden, companion Sandra, many brothers, sisters, extended family and friends. With sadness we announce the sudden peaceful passing of John Glyndower Marlow on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 71 years. John leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Mary-Helen (nee Sloan); son Johnny; grandson John; granddaughter Lori (Ryan) Marlow-Goldring; and special cat, Snow. He also leaves behind siblings Bill (Susan), David (Ruth) and June (Bob) Regimbald; his “out-law” family Anne (Tom) Alexander, Larry (Kathy) Sloan, Mary-Catherine (Mike) Watson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Son Michael; parents Leola and John; and sister Barbara Davies. Born on November 8, 1941 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, John joined the Armed Forces in 1957 and proudly served for 25 years with the Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) and the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI), NORAD, NATO, and the United Nations. In 1979 he went to work at Bristol Aerospace for 23 years where he became an active member of CAIMAW Local #5 serving as Shop Steward and contributing to various committees, with three terms as Local President. In 1992 after the merger of CAIMAW with CAW John then headed up Local 3005 Retirees Chapter which he was active in up to the time of his passing. His commitment to social justice did not diminish in retirement, as John represented the Manitoba Federation of Union Retirees and served on the Manitoba Federation of Labour Executive Council. He was also a vocal advocate for Veteran's compensation and pension benefits. On Friday, November 16, 2012 John’s Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street @ Manitoba Avenue. WOJCIK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL ENTRUSTED TO RICHARD "DICK" GORDON STOKES

Carried off with the undying love of the family he nurtured and valued like no other, Richard Gordon (Dick) Stokes chose to end his battle with kidney cancer on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Riverview Health Centre. Dick will never be forgotten and dearly missed by his wonderful wife of 51 years, Judy; his ever loving daughter Karen Stokes (Neal); son Gord Stokes and wife Nancy; son in law Steve Brockington; son in law Jeff Baker; chosen daughter Marie Larsen and husband Ron. Loved so very much, and the lights of his life are his grandchildren, Hayley, Chelsea, and Cole Baker, Owen Nicholson (Julie), Alexis Brockington, Ben and Elise Stokes, Tyler, Mathew, and Courtney MacNeish. Dick also leaves an innumerable amount of nieces; nephews; and very close friends whose lives he touched with his love, loyalty, and no doubt humour. He was predeceased by his parents Geraldine and Donald Stokes; as well as brothers Ron and Larry. Most painfully, he was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl just 10 years ago. It gives us all enormous comfort that he and Cheryl are together again. Dad was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the west end where he made many lifelong friendships. He served with pride in the R.C.A.F. from 1957-1960, leaving only to begin his journey with the love of his life Judy whom he wed in 1961. Dad spent the majority of his career in the overhead door business as a sales manager where he cultivated many long lasting business relationships as well as personal friends. The work ethic and success he enjoyed during these days were, and to this day serve as an example to all of us. Sick days were not in his vocabulary. Always an avid curler, Dad was a member of Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club, as well as C.F.B. Winnipeg for many years. He was also a member of the A.N.A.F. Unit #283 for many years. Dad was a man who always put his family ahead of all else; always cherishing his time with his wife and children, and especially his grandchildren. Papa’s favourite times were attending his grandchildren’s basketball, hockey, soccer, and volleyball games, dance recitals, school plays, and Christmas concerts. His pride in his grandchildren was unquestioned. On Saturday, November 17, 2012 a Celebration of Dick’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the ANAF # 283, 3584 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. The family wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to all of the angels of 3E at Riverview Health Centre who were there for him, and our family at all times, and tolerated and laughed at his jokes while providing him both sincere comfort and dignity. RICHARD WOJCIK ENTRUSTED TO JOAN SCOTT

Joan left this life peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the age of 90, to join her beloved husband Laurie. She is survived by her children: Bob (Debby), Dennis (Susan), Jacqui (Derek), Suzanne (Roy), David (Janette), and Marianne (Terry) along with her 11 grandchildren: Lindsay, Christine, Laura, Trevor, Stephen, Gary, Helen, Johanna, Louise, Graeme, Jason and 15 great grandchildren. “A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.” Born in Folkestone, Kent, Joan spent the war years building munitions. After the war she worked as a conductress on the buses in London, where she met and subsequently fell in love with Laurie. At the age of 50 she started her new life with Laurie in Winnipeg, where she worked as a cook. Even with her strong work ethic, no work was more important to Joan than taking care of Laurie and her kids - cooking a Sunday dinner for her family provided her the greatest joy. Upon retirement Joan and Laurie enjoyed travelling to many great destinations around the World. While recuperating from a severe accident and cancer in 2007 Joan moved to the Deer Lodge Centre to be with Laurie. Our family would like to thank all the staff of Lodge 7 for their compassionate care and attention to Joan’s needs over the past five years. Special thanks go to Kim and Marie, who became more like family to Joan in her last few years. In keeping with Joan’s wishes a Funeral Service will not be held and a private family Interment has been held. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen, peacefully in her home, on Sunday, November 11, 2012. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Helen will forever be missed by her husband Art; children Dave (Patricia), Judy (Stan), Beverly (Saverio); grandchildren Kimberly (Brent), Jason (Melissa), Brittany, Jennifer, Lauren, Lance; great grandchildren Ethan, Emily, Ferrin, Addison & Mariella; sisters, Margaret, Jean (James); and brother Doug (Ruth). Born and raised in St James, Helen married Art in 1944 and they had 68 wonderful years together. She spent many years working at Eatons before raising her family who became the center of her life. She had many interests including horseback riding, bridge, gardening, crafts, sewing and was an avid football fan and was an active U.C.W. member at Harrow United Church. Helen loved travelling with Art in their fifth wheel trailer. Mom and Dad spent many wonderful winters in the southern states and British Columbia and enjoyed the summer months at Lee River. On Thursday, November 15, 2012 Helen’s Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Kirkfield Park United Church, 472 Kirkfield Street, Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the staff on 3 West at Concordia Hospital. They would also like to thank Mom’s compassionate home care workers and a special thanks to her case coordinator Mary Anne Syzek who all helped make it possible for Mom to stay in her own home.
