WOJCIK'S FUNERAL CHAPEL - WALTER SCHULTZ FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS

Walter Arthur Schultz

On Monday, December 8, 2014, Walter Arthur Schultz passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord.  He was surrounded by family during his short hospital stay, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Left to forever cherish Walter’s memory are his loving wife and best friend, Dorothea, with whom he shared his life for a wonderful 62 years.  Walter also leaves his children, Laurie (Brian), David (Karen), Brenda (Bob), and Mark (Kristine); ten grandchildren and their partners; two joyous great-grandsons; sister-in-law, Marlene, and brother-in-law, Al.
Walter was born on January 16, 1928 in Winnipeg where he spent most of his life.  The Lutheran Church was a major influence in Walter’s upbringing, and he was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for 46 years.  He worked as a Chartered Accountant for several years before Walter felt the call to serve the church as a financial officer.  He left his mark on the Lutheran Church of Canada before moving to a new challenge with the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva, Switzerland.  Walter treasured the many friends he made along his journey, one that took him to many places around the world.
Walter’s family was his pride and joy, and he was proud of all their accomplishments.  Walter’s greatest pleasure was seeing their successes, and watching their faith grow and flourish. He was a source of wisdom and strength to his family, his friends, and his colleagues. Walter’s kind and gentle strength will be greatly missed.  His life of truth, love, and faith are values we all strive to match.
A Celebration of Walter’s Life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Messiah Lutheran Church, 400 Rouge Road, Winnipeg, MB, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carol Janke, presider.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, or Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Cancer Care and the staff on Ward GA4 at Health Sciences Centre.
